Menon's enormous faith in the almighty coupled with his concern for underprivileged sections has endeared him to scores of people from different walks of life. Over the years he has extended his helping hands to numerous such people when it mattered most.
In 2006, when the Thrissur Municipal Corporation was looking for a benefactor to rehabilitating more than 600 slum dwellers, who had encroached upon government land in the heart of the growing city, Menon came forward with a timely solution and built close to 150 residential units to provide a permanent shelter to those underprivileged sections on the city outskirts. The Rs 15-million worth mass residential project was completed in a record time of 18 months.
Similarly in 2009, responding to a call from senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy, who was then the Opposition Leader in the Kerala Legislative Assembly, the entrepreneur undertook a similar mission in Puthupally in Kottayam district where he rebuilt more than 260 ramshackle houses inhibited by people belonging to extremely poorer sections in the community. A sum of more than Rs 10 million was spent on the accomplishment of the mission.

C K Menon has been all along the single largest patron and benefactor of "Adarsh" a model institution in Thripunithura that epitomizes his love and compassion for children suffering from cerebral palsy and other childhood development disorders like autism. The distinguished institution had the honour of receiving former Indian president Dr A P J Abdul Kalam for the inauguration of its new block in 2007.Menon was among the first NRIs to swing into action with a whopping donation of Rs 4 million when southern areas of India were adversely hit by Tsunami tidal waves in December 2004.
In Saudi Arabia last year, Menon came to the rescue of four Indians sentenced to death by a local court in Riyadh for killing one of their compatriots by donating blood money worth Rs 8 million to the victim’s family.Again, it took little time for him to came forward with a donation of Rs 800,000 to help a youth from Kottayam district, working in Saudi Arabia, whose hand was amputated following a work related accident.
Role Model For Communal HarmonyC K Menon also become a role model for communal harmony in Kerala last year when he built a mosque at a cost of Rs 10 million for the Muslim brethren of Mokeri in Kannur district. It was formally opened to faithful by Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader Panakad Syed Hyder Ali Shihab Thangal at a function chaired by Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on September 18 .
Documents available with India government recorded it as the first time in the country in more than 13 centuries that a non-Muslim built a mosque. Cheraman Perumal, the legendary king of Mahodayapuram (today’s Kodungalloor) was the last to undertake such a noble mission in the 8th century AD.
In recognition of this noble cause, Menon was honoured by Qatar Government’s widely acclaimed Doha International Center for Inter-faith Dialogue (DICID) with a special award, plaque and citation. Incidentally Menon is the first Asian resident in Qatar to be honored with the recognition.Efforts are also underway to erect a life size statue in memory of the first Catholic saint from India, Sister Alphonsa, at the new bye-pass junction in Changanassery.
